''I wish I were dead...'' - The Cry of Alan Rickman's Snape Dec. 14th, 2009 @ 04:14 am

WARNING: This entry may contain a bit of Deathly Hallows spoilers for The Prince's Tale so if you have not read the final book of the Harry Potter series, please proceed with caution.

Out of the entire much anticipated Deathly Hallows, the scene I am probably most eager to see is The Prince's Tale, however, it is only a matter of whether or not WB or David Yates in that respect will let Alan Rickman do his stuff, especially in one of the most treacherous scenes where we probably see for the first time of Snape's real torment:

The hilltop faded, and Harry stood in Dumbledore’s office, and something was making a terrible sound, like a wounded animal. Snape was slumped forward in a chair and Dumbledore was standing over him, looking grim. After a moment or two, Snape raised his face, and he looked like a man who had lived a hundred years of misery since leaving the wild hilltop...''I wish...I wish I were dead...'' (DH, pgs. 357-358. PDF format.)

The two most important aspects of this scene is that Snape is supposed to be ''making a terrible sound, like a wounded animal'' whilst his face is supposed to give off the impression of ''a man who had lived a hundred years of misery'' hence Rickman's older age compared to Snape's.

David Barron and Daniel Radcliffe on Alan Rickman--Funny Comment Dec. 12th, 2009 @ 04:05 pm

As read about at this link: http://www.snitchseeker.com/harry-potter-news/live-post-bd-live-half-blood-prince-screening-dan-radcliffe-david-barron-69604/, during the BD-Live screening event of the Half-Blood Prince Blu-Ray DVD with David Barron (acting as a replacement for David Yates due to a flu) and Daniel Radcliffe in which is taking place today, I found this comment they made about Alan Rickman rather funny:

Quote:

On Alan Rickman, David said he loved his eyebrows, while Dan loves his dry sense of humour.

Honestly, who CANNOT love this man's eyebrows. *yum*

(First it was David Heyman fan-boying Alan/Snape in the HBO Preview of Half-Blood Prince, and now David Barron?)

Meant to do this earlier, but was soooooo busy, and also I terribly apologize if anyone has seen this already. For those who haven't, enjoy :)

Warner Bros has released another exclusive video from the Ultimate Edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's/Sorcerer's Stone, this time focusing on the very enigmatic Professor Severus Snape. Chris Columbus and Alan himself reminisce on how the role was cast ten years ago. It can be viewed at this link: http://www.snitchseeker.com/harry-potter-news/video-chris-columbus-alan-rickman-discuss-casting-snape-sorcerers-stone-69504/

OK, so I am in room trying to study for my History final on Monday and my roommate turns on the tv and guess what they are showing...SOMETHING THE LORD MADE and of course, one of the first scenes is Alan Rickman wearing a suit in his laboratory. HE LOOKS AMAZING and so cute when he is checking the babies!!! I've never seen the movie and it looks like a really interesting movie but right now I am only focusing on him. IS IT JUST ME?!?! All my friends are laughing at me because I think that he is hot!

Little gift for y'all:

Another Request... Dec. 4th, 2009 @ 11:35 am

For my English Composition class, I'm supposed to write an essay about morality/spirituality/religion in a pop-culture visual artwork (such as film). I've chosen to write on The Search For John Gissing, for probably obvious reasons. *laughs* Anyhoo, I was wondering if y'alls could direct me to some good articles, youtube interviews, etc. on the movie. Any that have quotes by the actors about their characters and the film would be particularly helpful. Thanks a lot! :)
